Restaurant Review, Bayside Grille MM 99.5

I am a local and although I've lived here for over a year, this was my first time at the Bayside Grille. It was a great experience.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building and most of the tables have a fantastic view of the bay. If you come for dinner, check to see what time sunset will be, because you will not want to miss it. I'm not normally a huge "Wow, what a view!" person, but this was seriously spectacular as the sky changed colors before my eyes. Very lovely and romantic.

My husband had the center cut pork chop dinner and I had the creole shrimp. Both were prepared well and were very good. The menu prices were normal for a restaurant of this caliber- dinners between about $12 and $25. My husband had the key lime pie and said it was very good. A table behind us ordered a personal sized pizza that looked outstanding.

Our service was good and the waiter was very friendly. The other diners around us seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. There is a nice grassy area below the dining room where you can take pictures with the sunset as the backdrop and a long pier to walk out on as well.

This is a great place for a romantic dinner or for just bringing the family for a great dinner.

Hi! This room doesn't seem to have memories, and I've checked online, but personal recommendations are best for tattoos, I think.

My friend and I are going on a cruise which includes one day in Key West. We'd like to get tattoos while we are there (we've both been tattooed before, so we're not doing this on a whim or anything).

Neither of knows yet exactly what we want, but this cruise isn't until March of 2008 so we have some time.

Any recommendations for tattoo shops and/or artists? We'd prefer an artist or shop that has a website so we can see some of the artists' work.

Just a shout out- is anyone out there?

Not much going on in Key Largo this week- LOTS of rain, holy cow. I know we needed it, but of course I hate it because rain= no work for my husband.

I joined the upper Keys Moose Lodge this week in an effort to get out some and meet people. I think there will be a lot of opportunities to do good things in the community through them. I am also going to be volunteering with Mariner's Hospital, part of the Baptist Health Care network.

Also, this may be old ladyish (I'm 36, but most of the other people I play with are older), but there are some excellent bingo games in Key Largo. I'll post the full schedule for whoever is interested, but right now I go on Thursday nights at the American Legion at MM 97.5. The pots are usually about $40 per game (they cost $1/game, then a few games at the end are $3 and $5) and there are extra jackpots and larger pot games toward the end. 7pm-9:30 or so. It's a good time, you can get something to eat and alcohol/non-alcohol drinks, and the people are friendly and fun.

Anything else going on?

I'm a resident of Key Largo, 36 years old. My name is Suzette. My husband Allan is a local musician and we've lived here for a year now. I love snorkeling, fishing, happy hour, knitting, exercising, and just having fun.

I look forward to seeing posts from people in this community :)

Wow, so we have some new people here....

Hello to all who have joined this community...

When you have a chance, maybe you could introduce yourself, resident or visitor?...How often do you like to visit? Any favorite places?

If you have any questions feel free to ask...

Other than that the weather here has been nice, sweet and laid back as always...Went to a place called Brass Monkey the other day...nice place to hang out.

Also, if anyone lives in the Keys, "Yahoo Groups" has a group called "FloridaKeys-Freecycle", anyone who has free stuff to give away or someone who just wants something can post and mention what part of the Keys they live in, then they can exchange info and exchange stuff, for free...it's pretty neat.

Well that's all for now...

Welcome all to The Florida Keys LJ Community...

Hello and welcome all, this is the first post to this community. I hope that this will be a venue for those who want to visit, want to live, or already live in the Florida Keys. Personally, I live in Key Largo, and find it that it's good to network among those that find an interest in the Keys, as that is usually how you find awareness of the best places to hang out, meet new people, or just info on getting things done in the area....specially if it can be done without having to take the trip to Miami. Anyways, please feel free to join this community.

Post just about anything you want, as long as it is related to the Florida Keys. Enjoy!
