We're here!

Hi, Folks! I just wanted to thank you for all of your advice. We're here in the Keys and loving it. We've been exploring the area and are having a wonderful time. It's all so different from home- just beautiful. Last night Howard Livingston and the Mile Marker 24 Band played at our campground. You know, I never really listened to that kind of music before,I like things a little heavier, but those guys were a lot of fun. My mom danced her butt off all night, too bad they didn't have their margarita maker with them. We went the other day to Fishbusterz Seafood Market, bought some great food and they were about half the price of most of the other places we checked (thank God for helpful local folks letting us know about them ;D). Tonight is the Superbowl so we'll be staying in to watch it and eat more seafood. Going to Mallory Square to visit all of the tourist must-sees this week...I don't want to leave! Any advice about a good charter fishing boat? Someone said don't bother going unless you get a seat in the back left corner of the boat, not exactly sure why.

So glad you're having a good time! And I'm glad you liked Howard and MM24 ... they're favorites of mine. I don't have advice about charter fishing ... it's been years since I've done that. Have fun in Key West, though! If you get the chance, eat at the Conch Republic Seafood Company and/or at the Half Shell Raw Bar. And take the Conch Train tour ... you won't regret it. Enjoy!
I haven't gone fishing yet, but Captain Don has a boat by Schooner Wharf Bar in front of Schooner Hindu (bottom of William St) and he seems pretty cool. Everyone I've seen walk off his boat says they enjoyed it.

I'm on Schooner Hindu, so come by for a sunset sail (she's the oldest schooner in town, and by far the prettiest!).

Hope you're having fun!
